In this safe, fully aware state, gentle suggestion and visualization help release fear, build calm, and rewire patterns that willpower alone struggles to shift.

Self-Hypnosis Calming Practice

A simple 10-minute home practice to enter a calmer baseline state.

    Settle in

    Sit comfortably, dim the lights, and let your shoulders drop.

  2. 2
    Countdown breath

    Take 10 slow breaths, counting silently down from 10 to 1.

  3. 3
    Descend a staircase

    Imagine walking down a staircase — feeling lighter and more relaxed with each step.

  4. 4
    Anchor in safety

    At the bottom, picture a calm safe place. Silently say: "I am calm. I am safe. I am in control."

  5. 5
    Return slowly

    Stay there for 2 minutes, then count up from 1 to 5 and gently open your eyes.

Practise daily to build a calmer, more receptive baseline state of mind.
