A 4-step practice for moments when an old wound surfaces in everyday life.

    Pause & place

    When you notice a strong reaction, pause and place a hand gently on your chest.

  2. 2
    Breathe & name

    Take three slow breaths and silently name the feeling: "I'm feeling _____."

  3. 3
    Ask gently

    Ask yourself softly: "How old does this part of me feel right now?"

  4. 4
    Reassure within

    Whisper to that younger self: "I see you. You are safe now. I'm here."

Each kind pause quietly rewires how you respond to old triggers.
